Eleazar

Who was Eleazar in the Bible?

An understudy must know the lead role completely and be willing to step into it at a moments notice. Eleazar was an excellent understudy, well trained for his eventual leading role. However, Eleazar’s moments in the spotlight were painful. One one occasion he watched his two older brothers burn to death for failing to take God’s Holiness seriously. Later, as his father was dying, he was made high priest, which surely was one of the most responsible and potentially stressful positions in Israel.

An understudy benefits from having a script and the human model of the role. Ever since childhood Eleazar had been able to observe Moses and Aaron. Now he could learn from watching Joshua. He had God’s laws to guide him as he worked as priest and advisor to Joshua.

Are your role models guiding you in the right direction based on God? Do you know God? Do you know Jesus?

Are you certain that you are going to heaven? If the answer is no or your not really sure and there is something stirring inside you at this very moment to do this, then all you have to do is say a small prayer and you can be assured of your name being added to the Book of Life. Go to the prayer of salvation and pray the words out loud and believe in your heart and you will be saved.

Eleazar’s is mentioned in Exodus 6:23; Leviticus 10:16 – 20; Numbers 3:1 – 4; 4:16; 16:36 – 40; 20:25 – 29; 26:1 – 3, 63; 27:2, 15 – 23; 32:2; 34:17; Deuteronomy 10:6 and Joshua 14:1; 17:4; 24:33
